
Now residing in Seattle, WA, Daniel cuurently serves as the director of the Loft Writing Center at North Seattle Community College.
In addition to his achievments as an educator and administrator in higher education, he also has over ten years experience working in theatre with a focus on acting, directing, playwriting, nonprofit development, marketing, and public relations.
Mr. Tarker also has six years experience teaching English at the community college level, instructing courses ranging from developmental reading and writing to composition and critical thnking. .
Finally, IMr. Tarker is an experienced actor, director, playwright, and dramaturge. Some of his favorite roles include Pirate in the World Premiere of John Steinbeck’s “Sweet Thursday”, Himself in “Six Characters in Search of an Author”, Epihotov in “The Cherry Orchard”, Hazel in “Cannery Row”, Brody in “The Real Thing”, and The Vampire Dog in “Mad Forest”. Other directorial credits include Tennessee William’s “27 Wagons Full of Cotton”, Dario Fo’s “One Was Naked, One Wore Tails”, and Peter Barnes “Leonardo’s Last Supper.” Currently, he serves at the literary associate for The Western Stage in Salinas, CA. His plays “The Shopping Cart Thief”, “The Pale Hearse” and “The Blanket” have been performed in San Francisco and Bristol, England. His one act “The White Robe” recently premiered at Actors Theatre Santa Cruz and his latest full-length play "Terminal Velocity" received a reading at Portland Theatre Works. He received his MFA in Play writing from San Francisco State in 2003.
